With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Norma Jean Johnson of Rock, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 1, 2025 at the age of 89. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Norma Jean leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James McKenzie and Sylvia Overton McKenzie; her husband Billy Ray Johnson; and her siblings, Linda Ross and Jim McKenzie.
She is survived by: her son Cody Johnson (Shelia) of Windmill Gap; and her granddaughters, Jessica Duke (Zach) and Sheena Johnson (Crystal Hambrick). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home (3431 Coal Heritage Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
