It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Smittle III of Ripley, West Virginia, who passed away on August 25, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Smittle Jr. (Nook) and Eileen Smittle (Calvert); and his grandparents, Walter Smittle Sr., Jessie, K. W. Calvert and Osgay.
He is survived by: his sons, Walter Matthew Smittle (Debbie) of Murrells Inlet, SC and Jonathan Glenn Smittle of Ashland, KY.; his wife Barbara K. Smittle (Mikes); his grandchildren, Kelsey Leann Smittle (Austin), Jonah Gabriel Smittle and Samual Cole Smittle; his great grandchildren, Addison Grace Smittle and Mayson Garrett Smith; and his siblings, Barbara Kay Fitzgerald of New Martinsville, Lance E. Smittle (Pam) and Jan Keith Smittle (Linda).
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Walt's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
