He was predeceased by: his mother Lucille Birdsong (Hentzschel); and his brother Randall Birdsong. He is survived by: his father Lee Birdsong; his wife Susan Birdsong (Wendelken); his friend Ray Schumate; his sister Betsy Birdsong Engel; his daughters, DeAnna Porter and Meggan Birdsong; and his granddaughter Ashley Porter.
