Jessie M. Bosley Obituary
Jessie M. Bosley, 87, of Ripley, WV left this world peacefully on January 12, 2021 to join the love of his life, Sharon, in Heaven. He was born in Groesbeck, TX on November 3, 1933, into a hard-working farming family. Jessie owned and operated a successful drywall business, along with Sharon, for over 50 years in Jackson County, WV.
To this day, there are those who recall his exceptional work and see him as an artist at his craft. He and Sharon were both lovers of all things living. If they weren't growing vegetables and flowers, they were feeding and protecting the birds and other wildlife that frequented their back yard or nurturing their grandchildren every chance they got.
Anyone who knew Jessie, knew that he was a story teller and a jokester. And we all knew that if he was "pullin' your leg", he surely liked you just fine. Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, John Mark and Eula Jackie Bosley, as well as two sisters, Johnny Faye Hartley and Lenora Bailey. Also preceding were seven brothers, Alton, Ford, Henry, Hulan, Talmage, R.O. and Walter.
His amazing brother, Tommie Ray of Madisonville, TX survives. Surviving also are his two children, son Larry Bosley (Ruth) of Cincinnati, OH and daughter Connie Detillion (Fred) of Piketon, OH. Also surviving are six granddaughters, Maren (Adam) Baxter of Estes Park, CO; Jourdan (Reid) Rosemond of Tacoma, WA; Billie (Rob) Workman of Ripley, WV; Anna Perdew of Piketon, OH; Shannon Heilmann (Tyler) of Chillicothe, OH; Shayna (Alec) Taylor of Chillicothe; and one grandson, Christopher of Piketon, OH.
Nine great grandchildren also survive: Seth, Levi, Xander, Zyler, Lydia, Logan, Mitchell, Jessa and Matrix, in age order, as well as many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood, WV has been entrusted with his arrangements. Visitation will take place there on Saturday, January 16, from 10-11 a.m., with his service there directly following.
Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Cottageville. If it is your wish to honor him in this way, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN. Condolences may be expressed to the family at [email protected] or on our Facebook page.
