He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Olin McCoy and Clara Marie McCoy (Arbogast); his sister Patsy Cosner; and his stepson Thomas Blacklin. He is survived by: his wife Betty McCoy; his sons, Johnie McCoy, Jr., Clifton McCoy and Michael McCoy (Karen); his stepson John Blacklin (Gwen); and his sister Margaret D. Lough-Wise (Donald). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Johnie's name to the Mountainside Marine Corps League, 912 Weires Avenue, LaVale, MD 21502.
