He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon P. Ackerman, Sr. and Ora Mae Ackerman (Schramm); his son Eric Gauntly; and his siblings, Ila Mae Keith, Linda Bowman, Simon P. Ackerman, Jr. and Charles Ackerman.
He is survived by: his significant other Lois Getz; his daughters, Amanda Parker (Eric) and Nicole Ackerman; his stepchildren, Brenda Powalie and David Getz; his siblings, Mildred Deem, Ellen Nightengale, Peggy Reynolds and Ronnie Ackerman (Patty); his grandchildren, Emma, Chloe and Jackson; and his friend Jeff Cope. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
