She was predeceased by: her parents, Austin Maybury Brown and Dorothy Ann Cochran Brown; her husband James M. "Jim" Hefner Sr.; her daughter Lutresia "T. C." Johnston; her daughter-in-law Kathy Hefner; and her sisters, Velma Clevenger, Geraldine Hightower and Minnie Lewis (Sonny).
She is survived by: her sons, James Marion Hefner Jr. of Yadkinville, NC, Jeffrey Hefner (Elizabeth Ann) of Yadkinville, NC, Randell Hefner (Christy) of Yadkinville, NC and Douglas Hefner (Jennifer) of Yadkinville, NC; her son-in-law Don Johnston of Renick, WV; her grandchildren, Jacob, Devin, Joseph, Andrew, Brittany, Lane, Amanda, Derrick, Jessica and Morgan; and her siblings, Edward Brown (Judy) of Yadkinville, NC and Mary Altizer of Renick, WV. She is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren.
