He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Ashley and Ruby White Ashley; and his children, John Matthew Ashley and Alecia Ann Kendall. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Shamblin Ashley; and his children, Kara Hardway (Duke) of Buckhannon and Malcolm Ashley (Carla) of Elizabeth. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; three step grandchildren, nine step great grandchildren.
