He was predeceased by: his parents, Wirt Ranson and Maude Ranson; his wife Katheleen Wagner Ranson; and his siblings, Bernice Ranson Boswell of Dunbar, WV, Elizabeth Ranson Harrison of Liberty, WV, Kenneth Ranson of Liberty, WV. and Glen Ranson of Liberty, WV..

He is survived by: his nieces, Cindy Harrison of Walton, WV and Barbara Ranson Pringle of Liberty, WV; his nephew Ralph Ranson of Liberty, WV; and his goddaughter Roxanna Hawkins. He is also survived by his friends, neighbors.

In lieu of flowers, he request donations be made to Emma Chapel Cemetery Fund.
