It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howard Franklin Rutan of Red House, West Virginia, who passed away on April 8, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Woodrum and Betty Jane Starcher Rutan; and his sisters, Margie Oldaker and Nora Runions. He is survived by: his wife Jeannetta Rutan; his sons, Patrick (Amanda) of Culloden, WV, Christopher (Tonya) of Buffalo, WV and Justin (Norvella) of Red House, WV; his grandchildren, Shana Rutan, Hunter Rutan, Trevor Rutan, Connor Rutan, Elizabeth Potter and Andrew Potter; his great grandchild Kinley Campbell; and his siblings, Norman Rutan, Rita Higginbotham and Leah Rutan Beane. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Chapman Funeral Home (3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, WV 25526). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
