He was predeceased by: his parents, John L. Sims and Ruth M. Martin Sims; his wife Sally Christian Sims; his siblings, Gene (Barbara Sims) and Stormy Mullins; his mother-in-law Gladys Christian; his brothers-in-law, Aldie Mullins and Bub Ikard; and his stepdaughter Patricia Hass.
He is survived by: his daughters, Windy Ashley (L. D.) of Bristol, VA, Misty Lamie (Randall) of Panama City, FL, Josey Sims of Tazewell, VA and Tanya Goodman of Tazewell, VA; his grandchildren, Sammi, Calen Ashley, Morgan Tate, Aaron Hill, Tyler, Alic Hass, Parker Baldwin and Keerstin Rasnake; and his siblings, Carol Ikard and John L. (Carol Sims). He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
