He was predeceased by: his parents, William Marion and Freda Pishner Thompson; his brothers, Lowell Lee "John" Thompson and Larry Dale "Bubby" Thompson; and his grandson Justin Joe Hafer.
He is survived by: his son Billy Joe Thompson; and his siblings, Lillian Louise Speece of Ravenswood, Lois Albert Kibble of Ravenswood, Becky Sue Patterson of Ravenswood and James J. Pishner of Arlington, VA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
