It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jimmy Dayton Smith (Ravenswood, West Virginia), who passed away on August 19, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Delbert Elsworth Smith and Edith Learene Brown; his wife Faye Smith (Mullins); his daughters, Judy Marty (Joe), Melanie Casto (Tim) and Susan Smith-Irvin (JR); his grandchildren, Jennifer Kidd (Ryan), Jessica Resnick (Jeff), Michael Casto (Sam), Melissa Heyer (Cody) and Ryan Irvin; and his great grandchildren, Benjamin, Kathryn, Jenna, Jillian, Aaron, Jamal, Will, Amelia, Henry, George, Scarlett and Dorothy.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Simpson Cemetery Fund (c/o Larry Franklin, 5762 Medina Road, Ravenswood, WV 26164) in honor of Jim's grandparents, Letha Elia and W.D. Brown, who raised him during much of his childhood, and are buried there.
