He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Burrell Sowers, Sr. and Alice Catherine Armstrong; and his brother Thomas Sowers, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Peggy" Lynn Horsley Sowers; his children, Duane Sowers (Maureen "Ree) and Terri Roberts (Donald) of Charles Town; his grandchildren, Brian (Lauren), Megan (Adam), Jennifer (Travis), Somer (Jon), Stephanie (Sean), Chelsea (Curt), Katie and Cameron (Zach); and his sister-in-law Florence Sowers. He is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren.
