With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carol Sue Rakes of Ranger, West Virginia, born in West Hamlin, West Virginia, who passed away on November 10, 2024 at the age of 63. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Andy Estep and Nettie Estep; and her siblings, Anna Ruth Neace and Elisha Estep. She is survived by: her husband Danny Rakes; her children, DeeAnna Thompson (JL) and Danny Ray Rakes (Samantha); her siblings, Marilyn McCoy, Owen Estep (Katherine) and Andy Jr. Estep (Sandy); her grandchildren, Morgan Rakes, Austin Rakes, Brady Thompson and Isabella Grigg; and her sister-in-law Kathy Scott.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Freeman Funeral Home, Inc. (220 Main St, Chapmanville, WV 25508). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
