He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Jefferson and Lola Mae Conley Wheeler; his son Timmy Allen Wheeler; and his brothers, Thomas E. Wheeler and Gary L. Wheeler.

He is survived by: his stepmother Ruby Thompson Wheeler; his wife Kay Davis Wheeler; his children, Angela Akers (Doug) and Ronnie Wheeler; his granddaughter Britiny L. Bailes (Nick); and his brothers, Joey Wheeler and Randall Wheeler (Loretta).
