She was predeceased by: her husband Virgil Scragg; her son Jerry Allen Atkins; her grandchildren, Jason Matthew Atkins and Jeri Renee Ramey; her parents, William Hazie and Ernestine McCoy Parks; and her siblings, Jo Ann Kirk and David Parks.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Atkins of Lexington, KY, Robert Atkins (Shereen) of Racine and Robin Ramey (Timmy) of Ashford; her sister Brenda Cooper (Reggie) of Coopertown; and her grandchildren, Christopher Atkins and Laura Leann Morris. She is also survived by Five Great Grandchildren.
