He was predeceased by: his parents, Junior Adkins and Pearl Canterbury Adkins of Racine; his grandson Dakota Charles Stapleton; and his brother David Adkins. He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Whitt Adkins of Racine; his daughters, Amy Stapleton (Jimmy) of Racine and Lou Ann Jarrell (Jason) of Dry Creek; his sister Brenda O'mera of Hinton; and his grandchildren, Hannah Stout (Tyler), Nathan Stapleton, Kaylee Montgomery (Chris), Brycen and Nevaeh Jarrell.
A celebration of life was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Toney's Branch Freewill Baptist Church (969 Co Hwy 3/02, Bloomingrose, WV 25024).
