He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton Godby and Ina Godby of Branchland, WV.; his wife Ruth Godby of Racine, WV; his daughter Karin Godby of Columbus, Ohio; and his brothers, Dallas, Herman "Jake", Dencil, Woodrow and Clenis Godby.
He is survived by: his sons, Daniel Godby of Columbus and Dewayne Godby (Jeanna) of Mansfield, Ohio; his stepchildren, Randy Aldridge (Mary) of Hurricane, WV and Amanda Johnson (Dale) of Belle, WV; and his grandchildren, Matt, Wil, Michael, Dustin, Levi, Jeremiah, Logan, Cameron, Brittany, Ina, Daniell, Kallie and Madelyn.
