It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Cross Jr. of Proctor, West Virginia, born in Reader, West Virginia, who passed away on August 10, 2021, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William C. Cross and Hazel Cross (Rogers); his wife Betty Baxter Cross; and his sisters, Ruth Snider, Mary Barber, Gertrude Keogh, Virginia Rawe and Mary Catherine Fitzsimmons.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Simms (Jim) of Mt. Clare, WV, Betty Jean Mayfield of St. Marys, WV, Cheryl Acree (Mike) of Proctor, WV and Nancy Davis of Proctor, WV; his close friend Cathie Plyler of Willis, VA; and his grandchildren, Jimmy, Marcie, Billie Jo, Tiffany, Matt and Christa. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
