He is survived by: his wife Kathi Bates; his son Matt Bates of Oregon City, OR; his stepson Christopher Newell (Rhonda) of Portland, OR; his siblings, Lonnie Bates of Washington Courthouse, OH, Anita Gump (Harold) of Pine Grove, WV and Lois Price (Charles) of Blacksville, WV; and his aunt Margie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial contributions may be made, in Glenn's name, to Long Valley Baptist Church, St. Jude's Children's' Hospital or Paralyzed Veterans.
