He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Brooks and Anna Decker; and his sisters, Barbara Johnson and Patricia Kennedy. He is survived by: his siblings, Ike Brooks of Nebraska, Earle Decker of South Carolina and Reva Kennedy Kelly (Tom) of Athens; his children, April Herald (Tim Cole) of Falls Mills, VA, Michelle Coleman (Shannon) and Chris Warburton (Samantha); his sibling-in-law Elsvan Johnson; his niece Tanya Johnson; his great-nephew Dakota Ferrell; and his grandchildren, Miranda Carey, D. J. Hagerman, Lexi Herald, Ethan Warburton, Whittney Warburton, Sean Hughes and Adam Hughes.
