He is survived by: his sons, Dr. William R. "Rick" Powers of Beckley, WV and Dr. Robert "Bob" Powers of Dublin, VA; and his nieces and nephews, Lisa Schepers, Charmaine Powers, Leslie Faircloth, Gigi Wardlow, Bruce Vest and David Vest.
