With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirlene Hawkes of Princeton, West Virginia, born in McComas, West Virginia, who passed away on September 15, 2022 at the age of 85. She was predeceased by: her parents, Greeley Alexander Abshire and Mamie Ella Williams Abshire; her husband Noah Douglas Hawkes; and her sisters, Margola Abshire and Janice McClung.
She is survived by: her children, Starlene Johnson (David Johnston) of Princeton, Brian Hawkes (Debra Grogan Hawkes) of Princeton and Carla Snyder (Danny Snyder) of Princeton; her brother-in-law Gary McClung; and her niece Sabrina McClung Gough. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren.
