He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Oakley Thompson and Ruth Phillips Thompson of Virginia; and his siblings, Carl Thompson and Lola Thompson. He is survived by: his children, Julie Gaspardo, Doug and Kevin Lee Thompson (Carrie); his stepsons, Ronald Smith and Billy Smith; his grandchildren, Megan, Laken, Noah, Bryson and Gavin; his great grandchildren, Makynsley and Bubb; and his siblings, Arnold Thompson and Carol Lewis.
