It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lorene Akers of Princeton, West Virginia, born in Elgood, West Virginia, who passed away on October 10, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jess Willard Nelson and Elsie Hazelwood Nelson; her husband Sparrel "Jack" Akers; and her siblings, Lewis Nelson and Imogene Akers.
She is survived by: her children, Sparrel Akers Jr., Jeffrey Akers (Evelyn) and Diana Woodard; and her siblings, Emelene Akers, Betty Shorter and Nina Shorter. She is also survived by Seven grandchildren; Ten great-grandchildren.
