He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe McKenzie and Viola Forney McKenzie; and his siblings, Rev. Leroy Parsons, John Hairston, Fred McKenzie, Rose Marie Norwood, Ruby Jean Taylor, Sylvia Hairston and Sarah Hairston.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Lee Anderson McKenzie of Princeton; his children, Timothy Edward "Tim" McKenzie (Amesha) of Bluefield, WV and Michelle Denise McKenzie-Muhammad of Winston Salem, NC; his grandchildren, Demarray McKenzie, Jhaqui, Jhaqua Powell, Tristan Muhammad and Tyjah Muhammad; and his great grandchild Demarray McKenzie, II.
