He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Hypes, Jr. and Mary Jane Gooslin Hypes; and his siblings, Patty Damewood, Peggy Cox and George Hypes.
He is survived by: his wife Dorra Haynes Hypes; his children, Rebecca Hypes of Bluefield, Crystal Hypes (Joey Leonard) of Covel, Miranda Harman of Princeton, Robert Harman of Princeton, Donna Harman (Cartell Anthony) of Princeton and Gregg Lee of Princeton; and his siblings, Carl Hypes (Sharon) of Princeton, Sherry Thompson (Tommy) of Princeton, Shelia Conley (John) of Princeton and Judy Cox (Richard) of Princeton. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mercer County Animal Shelter, the Dementia Society of America or the American Diabetes Association.
