He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Nelson and Thelma Sarver Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Vivene Carroll Scott Nelson; his children, John Nelson (Lee) and Terri Hendrick; his grandson Larry Emerson Shires; his great grandchildren, Lucas Emerson and Hayden Grace; and his sister Elsie Spencer.
