She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Hayton and Rosalie Jarrell Hayton; her sister Linda Sue Hayton Christian; and her granddaughter Maggie Elizabeth Rose Wellman. She is survived by: her husband Elmer Fortner of Prichard, WV; her daughter Renee Wellman (Brian) of Kenova, WV; her stepchildren, Tammy Smith (Richard) of Huntington, WV, Shawn Fortner (Tina) of Kenova, WV. and Chris Fortner of Kenova, WV; her grandchildren, Zach Wellman (Meredith), Elijah Wellman (Erin), Sophie Wellman, Caitlin Smith-Trautwein, Kelsey Spears (Jeremy), Elisabeth Fortner and Morgan Cochenour (Jeremy); her aunt Donna Plummer; her niece Missy Workman (Matt); her neighbors, John, Beth Workman and Bill McCallister Jr.; and her friend Sue Adkins. She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
