She was predeceased by: her husband Franklin D. Burnette; her parents, Gernie Johnson and Audrey Johnson; her daughter Melba Jane Burnette; and her siblings, Beulah "Bootie", Martha, Denzal Ray, Lee, Elvin Marine, Willie Allen and Benson Johnson.

She is survived by: her son David Franklin Burnette; her sisters, Jane Berry, Ada Stewart and Patty Johnson; her grandchildren, Shawna, Megan Skeens and Debra Byrd; and her great grandchild Bubby Skeens.
