It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Oliver Allen Sayre of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, born in Cottageville, West Virginia, who passed away on June 23, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Oliver Sayre and Stella; his stepfather Richard Sayre; his half-brother Warren Sayre; his grandson Samuel Steadman; his sisters-in-law, Judy Kay, Pamela McGuffin and Harriet McGuffin; and his nephew Thomas McGuffin.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Fae Sayre (McGuffin); his daughters, Teresa Jarvis (Steve) and Lori Steadman (Bill); his grandchildren, Hannah Bauer (Ethan), Erica Gipson (Jacob), Michaela Suver (Gavin) and Anna Steadman; his great grandchildren, Jarvis Bauer, Ezekiel Bauer, Ireland Bauer, Oliver Gipson, Simon Gipson and Norah Suver; his siblings, Jeanne Oberg, Raymond Sayre (Katie) and Dorothy Grimm (Paul); and his brother-in-law Thomas McGuffin, MD.
The family has requested that rather than flowers, contributions in Allen's memory be made to the First Church of God Building Fund, 2401 Jefferson Avenue, Point Pleasant, WV, 25550.
