She is survived by: her parents, Lawrence Raymond Scarberry and Barbara Helen Scarberry (Hatfield) of Henderson; her spouse Sarah Katherine "Kathy" Deckard of Point Pleasant; her sisters, Laura Sue Bonecutter (Charles) of Gallipolis Ferry and Cathy Logan (Ray) of Gallipolis Ferry; and her siblings-in-law, Linda Betz of Gallipolis and Kenny Deckard of Gallipolis. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews and great nephews.

“Denise cut my hair for the first time when I was a little girl. And she did the same for both of my kids. I loved going to see her for hair appointments. And she was an absolutely blessing with my son who is autistic and was scared to get his hair cut. She was patient and kind. Over the years, it got easier. She has been apart of my life for 39 years, and she will be missed. My daughter was devastated when I shared the news with her and wanted to know who was going to cut and braid her.”
