He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Avery Herman Hood and Theria Marie Hendrix (McKenzie); his former wife Shirley Ann Hood (Henry); and his brothers, Harold "Boone" Hood and Arthur "Buck" Hood.
He is survived by: his wife Lala Diane Hood (McCoy) of Point Pleasant; his children, Angela Edge (Larry) of Point Pleasant, Carla Powell of Riverview, FL, Vicki Curry (Jeff) of Barboursville, WV and Jerry Anderson (Ashley) of Logan, WV; his grandchildren, Jason Powell, Brandon Powell of Riverview, Justin Taylor (Abby) of Maineville, OH, Devan Duckworth of Point Pleasant, Nicole Pierce of Lawton, OK and Brandon Edge of Point Pleasant; his great grandchildren, Hunter Powell, Logan Powell, Landen Powell, Tarryn Pierce and Teagan Pierce; and his sister Mary Kathryn Greer of Pomeroy. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
