He was predeceased by: his wife Ruby Higginbotham; his son Gary; his siblings, Freda Noffsinger, Helen Goff, Kathleen Deal, Mildred Randolph, Dicie Harris, Delbert, Darrell and Herchel; and his grandsons, Jacob Allen Spurlock and Nathan Skyles.
He is survived by: his children, Phyllis Short (Ronnie) of Charleston, Sharon Spurlock of Charleston, Sue Higginbotham of Nitro, Connie Martin (Greg) of Culloden, Steven Ray Higginbotham of Poca, Ronald Wayne Higginbotham (Pam) of St. Albans and Paula Tallman (Coy) of Hartford, KY; his sisters, Edra Russell (Jim) of St. Albans and Maxine Randolph of Fairfax Va; and his close friend Delores Rhodes. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
