He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Lancaster and Lela Lancaster (Postlethwait); his daughter Vera Lavon Martin (Lancaster); and his siblings, Edith Howell (Jesse), Pearl Freeman (Bill) and Philman Lancaster.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Alice Lancaster (Rine); and his children, Eddie Lancaster (Sandy), Jeanne Ingold (Steve), Missy Lancaster and Renee Moore (Junior).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Minnie Church of God on Fluharty Run Rd in memory of Gene.
