He was predeceased by: his parents, Evan Daniel Hefner and Annie Lona Cutright Hefner of Pickens, WV; his sisters, Kathleen Benson (Louie), Annalee Stafford, Ethel Woolslayer (Ed) and Dorothy Roseberry (Bob); and his great grandchild Zachary.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Stafford Hefner; his brother Joseph Hefner (Wilma) of South Carolina; his children, Jane Davis, Sally Sartin, Janet McBroom, John Hefner and Larry Hefner; his grandchildren, Lindsey Calhoun (TJ), Crystal Davis, Genevieve, Tammy Sartin, Nicole McBroom, Cole and Gabriella Hefner; and his great grandchildren, Noah Nelson (McBroom), Jason, Donovan Bellotie, Joey, Maryjane Brooks, Justin Meanecke, Isaiah Sartin, Brooklyn Stinebiser and Claire Calhoun.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UPMC Family Hospice, whom the family greatly appreciates the nursing care provided to Jim.
