Eileen Ruth Been Obituary
We are sad to announce that on December 25, 2024, Eileen Ruth Been of Pickens, West Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Eileen Ruth may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her husband Bert Been; her daughter Kimberly Been; and her sister Donna Day. She is survived by: her daughter Dr. Beth Been; her son-in-law Dr. Robert Garvin of Lancaster, PA; and her grandchildren, Dr. Carly Garvin of East Lansing, MI, Grant Garvin of Philadelphia, PA and Emily Garvin of Washington, DC. She is also survived by many close friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home (95 S Kanawha St, Buckhannon, WV 26201). A burial was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pickens Cemetery (3977 Helvetia-Pickens Rd, Pickens, WV).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Eileen's memory to Pickens Historic Society.
