Wilbert Eugene Mayle Obituary
Reverend Wilbert E. Mayle, age 79, a resident of Philippi, WV., started his new journey with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at his home with his family by his side following an extended illness.
He was born into this life on May 6, 1943, in Philippi., a son of the late Charlie Mayle and Nessie Pearl (Parsons) Mayle.
He was united in marriage to the love of his life and soulmate the former Virginia Langley, who preceded him in death on July 22, 2022.They had celebrated more than fifty years of marriage.
Wilbert leaves behind his daughter; Loretta Lambert; stepchildren; Michelle Mayle-Barth, Angie Matthews, Danny Lee Mayle, and Francis "Joe" Schirck III; one brother; Arliss Mayle, and wife Geraldine Mayle; several grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one great great grandson; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mr. Mayle was preceded in death by one daughter; Twila Davis; five brothers; Ralph Mayle, Ephraim "Trigger" Mayle, Emwood "Stonewall" Mayle, Leonard Mayle, and Wesley Mayle; three sisters; Beatrice "Beat" Kennedy, Lillian "Pity" Collins, and Nelda Jane Collins.
Rev. Mayle was Christian by faith. Along with his wife, Virginia they started their own church called the Gospel of Jesus Christ Ministry, which started out in their garage and ended up in Croston Hollow once the church gained more membership. He enjoyed being out in nature, from hunting to fishing, loved to sing with his wife and children, and shredded paper with his grandchildren. Wilbert was a family orientated man; he loved and cherished all his family with his whole heart. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Sunday, January 15, 2023, from 2 pm until 5 pm., at the Kittle Family Funeral Home, 265 Beech Ave., Philippi. Wilbert's request for cremation will then be honored. The Kittle Family Funeral Home, 265 Beech Ave., Philippi is honored to be assisting the family with the arrangements.
