Thomas Lewis Haddix Obituary
Thomas L. "Tommy" Haddix, age 68 a resident of Philippi, WV., passed away from this life on Tuesday, June 30, 2024, in Encompass Health and Rehabilitation Center of Morgantown, WV., he had been in declining health however is death was sudden and unexpected.
He was born on June 19, 1956, in Philippi, WV, a son to the late John Randolph Haddix Sr. and Rosa Lee (Condri) Haddix.
On February 14, 1997, he joined hands in marriage to the former Teena Trader who survives at their home in Philippi.
Tommy leaves behind one son; Thomas Haddix, and wife Renee, one daughter; Tessa Haddix, and companion Alan Vanpelt, grandchildren; Makayla Haddix, and husband Zane Hoffman, Trinten Haddix, and companion Shelby Frey, and granddaughter; Mady, one brother; John R. Haddix Jr., sisters, Patty Haddix, and Cynthia Haddix, his dogs, Oliver, and JoJo; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers; Sammy Haddix, and James Haddix, his dog whom he loved with his whole heart, Aerial.
Mr. Haddix was a graduate of Philip Barbour High School, he owned and operated Haddix Body Shop for several years on Indian Fork where he was a hardworking man who found purpose in his work as a Body Man in the auto industry, he established a successful career as a self-employed individual, showcasing his commitment to excellence and craftsmanship. While working in his shop he enjoyed listening to Classic Rock. Tommy was a Nas Car fan rooting for anyone who drove a Chevrolet. A man of few words but immense kindness, Tommy touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His unwavering love for his family and his unwavering commitment to his work were the pillars of his existence and inspired those around him to reach for the best within themselves. He was a man whose warmth and compassion radiated to all who knew him.
Family and friends may gather for a visitation at the Kittle Family Funeral Home 265 Beech Ave. Philippi on Saturday August 3, 2024, from 1pm until 4 pm to share all the good times and to celebrate his life. In honoring his wishes, he will be cremated following the gathering. A memorial service dinner will follow in the later part of August. The Kittle Family Funeral Home in Philippi is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
