He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin B. Humphreys and Ella Wilmoth Humphreys; his siblings, Joe, Dee, Ted, Arley Humphreys, Emma Bolton, Ada Hawley and Jesse Bloom; and his son-in-law Robert W. Lipinski.

He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Jean Poe Humphreys; and his children, Angela Lipinski of Hurricane, WV and Russell Kurt Humphreys (Robin) of Philippi, WV..

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Animal Friends of Barbour County or to Hospice.
