Joell Christina Prunty Obituary
Joell Christina Prunty, age 82, a resident of Mansfield Place, formally a resident of the Hacker Creek area near Philippi, West Virginia departed this life on Sunday, September 29, 2024, in Mansfield Place. She had been in declining health. Joell was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.
She was born on July 2, 1942, in Pittsburgh, PA. A daughter to the late John Cochran and Elise (Lanham) Cochran. Her departure from this world leaves behind a void that can never be filled, but her memory will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Joell joined hands in marriage to Carl "Red" Prunty who preceded her in death in 2007.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Carla Prunty, and companion Gary Lee Mayle of Canal Fulton, Ohio; one granddaughter, Cassidy Prunty, and companion, Zach Bacorn of Canal Fulton, Ohio; two great grandchildren, Kody Lee Bacorn and Maci Elenora Bacorn both of Canal Fulton, Ohio.
Preceding her death beside her parents, and husband, was a sister, Patricia Cochran.
Joell was a Catholic by faith and graduated from high school in Pittsburgh after graduating she went into the Navy where she served her country. Her and Red met, and they settled down in Philippi where they started their family and had numerous friends that would come over to play cards with them. She enjoyed reading, walking, raising vegetable and flower gardens, and she really loved decorating her house for all the holidays. Joell was a wonderful lady who is going to be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
In honoring Joelle's wishes her remains were cremated. Family and friends may gather at Mary's Chapel Cemetery on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at noon for interment of her cremains. Kittle Family Funeral Home 265 Beech Ave., Philippi, WV., is honored to handle the arrangements.
