James Ware Obituary
James Edward "Jim" Ware, age 75 a resident of Philippi peacefully passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, at West Virginia Caring Hospice in Elkins, following a brief illness.
He was born on March 11, 1948, in Point Marion, Pennsylvania, a son to the late James William Charles Ware and the late Augusta Gertrude (Michaux) Ware.
On July 23, 1983, he joined hands in marriage to the former Norma Lee McCauley who survives at their home.
Jim leaves behind his three sons; Timothy "Bo" Higgins, John Higgins, and Tony Higgins; one daughter, Dorothy Higgins; two sisters, Peggy Underwood, and Betty Dellow; his friends who he thought of just like brothers, Harold Booth, and Benny Stout; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother, William Lee Ware.
Jim was a dedicated and hardworking individual who found fulfillment in his career as a Coal Miner working for Kitt Energy until his retirement. He loved being outdoors, fishing, hunting, and visiting his neighbors. He was an antique collector and enjoyed going to auctions. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
According to Jim's wishes his remains were cremated. The Kittle Family Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.
