Jack D Dalton Obituary

Jack Dewayne Dalton, age 76, a resident of Philippi, WV, passed away from this life on Monday, January 24, 2022, in the Davis Medical Center, following an extended illness. He was born into this life on February 23, 1945, in Grafton, WV, a son to the late Lemuel Mayle and Louise (Dalton) Mayle. On October 30, 1971, he was untied in marriage to the love of his life, Valdean Marie (Mayle) Dalton, they had just celebrated their 50th year of marriage, who survives at their home in Philippi.

Jack is survived by two sons; Edwin Dalton and wife, Stephanie, Jack Elliot Dalton, and wife, Laura, all of Philippi; one daughter; Ginny Warren, and husband Bam, of North Carolina; two brothers; Lemuel "Buddy" Mayle, of Charleston, WV., and Andrew Mayle of Canton, OH; one sister; Carolyn Mayle, and husband Richard of Canton, OH; nine grandchildren, and one great grandchild, who he adored and loved deeply; several nephews and nieces who will miss him; many friends, including his lifelong friend, Scott Mayle and wife Mildred of Philippi. Mr. Dalton attended the schools of Barbour County. He was a stay-at-home dad.

Jack raised his boys and enjoyed trading and had a passion of working on automobiles with help from his boys. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and he is going to be missed by all those who knew and loved him. The family would thank Scott Kittle and his staff at the Kittle Family Funeral Home for all their love and support during this difficult time.

Jack's wishes for cremation will be honored and a celebration of his life will take place at later date. The Kittle Family Funeral Home 265 Beech Ave., Philippi is honored to be assisting the Dalton and Mayle Familes with the arrangements.
