He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Clyde and Margie Francis Cross (Mouser); his son Karl Blaine Cross; his sons-in-law, Larry Shingleton and Danny Groover; and his siblings, William "Buddy" Cross and Louise Freeman (Charlie).
He is survived by: his wife Alta Cleo Cross (Gainer); his children, Vonda Shingleton of St. Mary's, WV, Victor Cross (Kimberly) of Volga, Joyce Groover of Indiana and Alicia Cross of Clarksburg; his grandchildren, Aaron Johnson (Khelsea) of Indiana, Carrie Kelley (BJ) of Indiana, Audrey Cross of Volga and Jerica Carpenter (Bo) of French Creek; his great grandchildren, Caleb, Maddox, Maverick, Memphis, Parker, Lexi, MacKoy, Maecon and Montgomery; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Ashley, Tiffany, Bryson and Luke; his great great grandchildren, Bentley, Jacob, Harlynn and Waylon; and his sisters-in-law, Louella Cross, Eldare Moore and Mary Moore (Okey Ray).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Wright Funeral Home (220 N Walnut St, Philippi, WV 26416). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that a memorial contribution be made to a charity of your choice.
