Clifton E. Talkington Obituary
Clifton E. "Peanut" Talkington, age 58, a resident of Philippi WV., passed away from this life on Friday, March 10, 2023, in the United Hospital Center, with his family by his side. He had been in declining health; however, his death was sudden and unexpected.
He was born into this life on November 17, 1964, in Philippi, WV, a son to the late Clifton Russell and Marilyn Ann (Deckman) Talkington.
On Saturday April 11, 2009, he married the love of his life and best friend, the former Betty Lillian Slider who survives at their home.
Peanut leaves behind his children; Dustin Talkington, and fiancé Lindsay Carpenter of Mannington, WV., Russell Talkington, and wife Holly Talkington of Lincoln, NE., Michael Stackpole of Philippi, and Cheyenne Stackpole of Philippi; eight grandchildren; brother; Larry Talkington of Elkins; sisters; Patty Schwamb, and husband Wes, Katherine Finley, and finance Mike Sypolt, Tina Watson, and husband Dave; mother in law; Patricia Slider; sister in laws; Ellen Deuley, and husband, Ervin, Rose Philipps, and husband Jeff; friends that were just like his brothers; Stanley Mayle, Gene Mayle, Brother John Mayle, and Robbie Mayle. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brothers; Michael Talkington, and Randy Talkington.
Peanut received his GED. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and working on various farms with Stanley Mayle. He wasn't afraid to work and would help anyone that needed it. Peanut had a heart bigger than his own body. He and his wife Betty loved to go thrift store shopping and yard sales. Peanut enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and he will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Visiting hours will be at the Kittle Family Funeral Home, 265 Beech Ave., Philippi on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, from 3 pm until 8 pm., and again on Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 8 am until 12 pm. A funeral service will be conducted at 12 pm from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Howard Swick as the celebrant. Peanut's request for cremation will be honored following services. The Kittle Family Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family with the arrangements.
