She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. George Ray Wait and Sara Fay Wait (Johnson); her husband John Porterfield; and her sisters, Josephine Ferguson and Patricia Strong.
She is survived by: her children, Karen Skidmore (Jim) of Philippi, WV and Jeffrey Porterfield (Annette) of Crofton, MD; her grandson Daniel Skidmore (Kerry) of Henderson, NV; her great grandchildren, Jackson, Isla and Finley Skidmore of Henderson, NV; her niece Betsy Brodnax (Peter) of Knoxville, TN; and her nephew James Strong Jr. of Delaware.
