He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis Ann Earls Dickens; his parents, Harvey Dickens and Elizabeth Brown Dickens; his siblings, Joyce Muthart, Willis David "Smokey" Dickens Sr. and Faye Sadlin; and his granddaughter Erica Tucker.
He is survived by: his children, Sheila Feathers of Peytona, Sherry Dickens of Peytona, Ray Dickens Jr. (Trish) of Nitro and Zane Dickens (Kendall) of Nashville, TN; his grandchildren, Christopher Pierce, Jasmine Tucker (Eric), Haley Dickens, Gabriel Dickens, Jacob Miller (Alexis), Hannah Dickens, Cassie Pierce and Sara Estep (Thomas) of Peytona; his siblings, Zola McGriff and Roger Dickens (Karen); and his close friend Bonnie Oaf. He is also survived by his daughter, twelve great grandchildren.
