He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert M. Elswick, Sr. and Mary M. Watson Elswick; his wife Mattie Virginia Elswick; and his children, Robert M. "Buster" Elswick and Diane Short.
He is survived by: his son Kimmy Elswick of Peterstown, WV; his grandchildren, Robbie, Junior and Stephanie; his half-sister Betty Sue Hill; and his nieces and nephews, Keith, Carolyn, Ricky and Tammy.
