She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl George and Ruth Lillian Witt Hicks; her husband Ronald David Wimmer; and her sisters, Sandra P. Hicks and Aleta Joe Hicks.
She is survived by: her children, Doris Suttle (Scott) of Rich Creek, VA, Angela King (Patrick) of Lewisburg, WV and Charles "Ricky" Wimmer of Rich Creek, VA; her grandchildren, Erik Suttle (Sherry), Catlin Suttle (Kaycie), John Michael King and Lillie King; her great grandchildren, Penelope Jane and Berkley Lynn; and her siblings, Michael Hicks (Emily), Letitia Hicks and Shirley Hicks Wimmer (Roger).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Rita's honor to Carilion Clinic Hospice (701 Randolph Street, Radford, VA 24141).
